Matthew Jensen received a BA in Political Science and Fine Arts from Rice University, and an MFA in Photography from the University of Connecticut. He is a 2017 GIDEST Fellow and 2016 Guggenheim Fellow, a 2016 grant recipient of the Peter S. Reed Foundation, and has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts for his projects Park Wonder and The Wilmington Center for the Study of Local Landscape. Jensen’s work is in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and National Gallery of Art, among others. He has participated in residencies at the NYC Urban Field Station, MacDowell Colony, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, ArtBuilt/Queens Museum, Wave Hill Public Gardens, the Delaware Contemporary, and Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. He is a part-time Assistant Professor of Photography and Studio Art at Parsons School of Design. Jensen lives and works in the Bronx.
