YOLA is Broadway’s new brightest star having replaced Ani Di Franco in Hadestown. Yolanda Claire Quartey, known professionally as Yola or Yola Carter, is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Her debut studio album, Walk Through Fire, received critical acclaim and earned her four Grammy Award nominations.
Yola is a six-time GRAMMY nominated artist, songwriter, and actor who has achieved critical acclaim, breakout success, and has been proclaimed as one of the most exciting and innovative artists in music today. NPR called her latest album, Stand For Myself (2021), the “best soul record of the past 20 years”, while Rolling Stone championed her as “one of contemporary pop’s greatest singers, who just so happens to also be one of its sharpest songwriters.”
The duo will be accompanied by Andy Hess on bass and Josh Dion on drums.

G.E. SMITH was bandleader and Musical Director for Saturday Night Live (SNL) band from 85-95'. During this time he also toured with Bob Dylan for four years. He was bassist on THE WALL LIVE TOUR for Roger Waters, 2010-2016 and sideman to Jagger, Bowie, and guitarist for Hall & Oates. He also helped Mike Myers write a song for Aerosmith, called Wayne’s World which went multi-platinum when they performed on SNL. http://gesmithmusic.wordpress.com.

Yola
Yolanda Quartey, better known by her stage name, Yola, is a Grammy-nominated country-soul singer-songwriter from Bristol, England. She has also gone by the name Yola Carter.
She became the lead singer of the band Phantom Limb, who released their first album in 2010. She has sung backing vocals for numerous artists including Massive Attack, The Chemical Brothers, and Iggy Azalea. Yola released her first solo EP, Orphan Offering, in 2016.
In February 2019, she released her debut album Walk Through Fire on Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound label, to much acclaim. The album title references both a fire which damaged Yola's home and an abusive relationship from which she escaped. Brittney McKenna of NPR Music's First Listen declared, "It's the work of an artist sure to stun audiences for years to come." The Wall Street Journal stated, "The album is an introduction to a seasoned, major vocalist that stands to be remembered as a breakthrough."
She sings the verse about a freedom rider The Highwomen's single "Highwomen."
Yola received four nominations at the 62nd Grammy Awards, including the all-genre Best New Artist category, and joined the Broadway cast of Hadestown in 2024.
