Join us for the new series, Art Social, where attendees will enter into a supportive and judgment-free session of art/craftmaking and socializing. Bring your friends and expect to make new ones while tapping into your creative selves. Workshops will be led by experts in their practice, and the projects are designed to be easily and enjoyably accomplished by all skill levels.
Do you have a piece of clothing that could use a creative touch to bring it back into your wardrobe circulation? For our first Art Social, don’t miss this opportunity to revitalize an item a special way. We will use needle felting to repair small holes or wear and tear and embellish the pieces with personalized motifs or other creative designs. In this way, you can give your garment a personal and sustainable touch.
Please bring an item or items you wish to revitalize. All other materials will be provided. The Art Social admission fee includes a complimentary glass of wine/beer/soft drink and lite bites.

Laurie Lambrecht
Laurie Lambrecht is a visual artist based in Bridgehampton, NY. She studied at Marymount College, The University of Colorado and the Visual Studies Workshop before working as an assistant to Roy Lichtenstein (1990-1992). During this period she photographed the artist and his process. “Roy Lichtenstein in His Studio” the monograph of her project was published by Monacelli Press in 2011. Lambrecht has had numerous solo exhibits in the US and internationally. Her work resides in public collections including Guild Hall, The National Gallery of Art, The Portland Art Museum, The Parrish Art Museum and The Center for Creative Photography. Embracing photography and fiber arts her artwork explores her reverence for the natural world especially of trees and her interest in the creative spirit and art history. She has been an artist in residence at the Rauschenberg Residency, the Watermill Center, and the American Academy in Rome. She is the recent recipient of a project grant from NYSCA.

Anna-Lena Hamann
Anna-Lena Hamann, known to her friends as Leni, studied graphic and textile design. After an immersion in fashion design in Iceland she graduated with a master’s degree in textile engineering. Her focus was on marine litter of the world’s textile industry. She has worked in various companies that produce sustainable textiles. She taught women and children in art and textiles with an NGO in Peru.
Currently she leads an inclusive screen-printing workshop in Hamburg, Germany. With her expertise in knitting and sustainable textile production she also gives courses in upcycling. Her idea is to sensitize and inspire people for sustainable textile consumption. Conscious design is her most important motivator. Next to that she is a passionate knitter and produces her own crazy textile beauties based on the materials she randomly finds under the name @Verschmiertverkleckert on Instagram.
